The Tory Burch Foundation and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses partnered with Babson College and LaGuardia Community College to provide an extraordinary entrepreneurship business and management education opportunity for a select group of qualified early stage women-owned small businesses in New York City. On April 1, we celebrated the graduation of the inaugural class. The ceremony included a panel discussion with Tory; Mika Brzezinski, Co-Host of Morning Joe; Arianna Huffington, President and Editor-in-Chief of The Huffington Post; Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama and Chair of the White House Council on Women and Girls; Gary Cohn, COO of Goldman Sachs; Malene Barnett, graduate and owner of Malene B, a custom, handmade carpet company; and remarks from John Rogers of Goldman Sachs; Dr. Gail Mellow, President of LaGuardia Community College and class speaker Carrie Hammer, graduate and owner of Carrie Hammer brand made-to-measure, professional clothes for women.
